Discovery and Development Hub Celebrates 2nd Anniversary
Warroad, Minn. – February 19, 2019 – The Discovery and Development Hub, located at Lake Street Center in downtown Warroad, is celebrating their second anniversary on Thursday, February 28. The open house starts at 8 a.m. with coffee and refreshments available all day. At 3 p.m., the community is invited to hear from representatives of Lake of the Woods Brewing Company, who will be onsite to share their story with attendees in the new conference room, also known as Suite D. In addition, interesting stories and fun facts will be shared via the DD Hub’s social media channels on leading up to the 28th.
“It’s been great to see the response from the community since we’ve opened,” said senior community development manager Brenda Baumann. “People are coming to the DD Hub with ideas for new businesses, seeking help with business plans, and searching for ways to strengthen existing businesses. In these instances, we often invite consultants from the Northwest Minnesota Small Business Development Center (NWSBDC) to have private consultations, which are free for local entrepreneurs and businesses with a simple online registration.”
NWSBDC business consultant Grant Oppegaard has witnessed the increased use of the DD Hub first hand, sharing, “Before the Hub opened, there were only a few active clients from Warroad, and today, there are 25 active clients ranging from retail stores and consulting businesses to take-out restaurants and food trucks.”
